EARLY
ARRIVAL

Students will leave buses for the building at approximately 8:20am. We do not have supervision for children who are let off at school early. Please, for the safety of your children make sitting arrangements if it is necessary.

LOST &
FOUND

We have a Lost and Found in the custodial area of the building. We encourage children to check the lost and found collection for any missing items. We ask that you label clothing items worn to school by your child. This will help us return a lost article to its owner.

LUNCH
MONEY

The cost for an elementary school student's lunch is $1.20, milk is 35¢. If children forget their lunch or lunch money, we have a small fund in the office that we can use to lend them money to buy lunch. Repayment is due the next day.

Individual items such as fruit, chips, pretzels, ice cream and cookies are often available for purchase on a daily basis at a variable cost.

For your convenience it will be possible to pre-pay lunches during the school year in blocks of 5 days. The cost of a pre-paid lunch ticket is $5.75 subject to the following rules:

  • You must pre-pay in blocks of 5 days.
  • Payment must be made in the morning prior to the start of lunch service
  • Payment is made at the Cook Manager's office in the cafeteria. Checks should be payable to Food Service Department, WCS (Webster Central Schools).
  • Lunches may be carried over is a child is absent or brings a bag lunch.

The school would appreciate donation of age appropriate board games for use during lunch hours.

PLAY-
GROUND

Only students are allowed to use the playground during school hours. After school and in the summer it is available publicly when not reserved by the Penfield Recreation Summer Program.

SIGNING OUT
CHILDREN

Please send a note with your children on the morning of the day they are to be excused early. When you arrive to pick up your child, please sign the book on the counter in the office. One of the secretaries will call the classroom and the child will be sent to the office to meet you.

USE OF THE SCHOOL TELEPHONE

Because of heavy traffic in the office and heavy use of the school telephones, it is necessary to curtail the number of telephone calls made by children during the school day. If your child is to call home during the day, please provide $.25 for the pay telephone which is located outside the main office of the school. Children will be allowed to use the school telephone for urgent matters only.

VISITORS

Visitors to the classroom areas need to make arrangements with the child's teacher in advance. Visitors sign in at the main office and receive a visitor's sticker.

VOLUNTEERS

Volunteers need to sign in at the main office each time they arrive in the building. Volunteers will then obtain a volunteer sticker.

DISCRETIONARY FUNDS FOR STUDENTS' ASSISTANCE

A special fund was set up by the PTSA and turned over to the Plank Road South principal. The Discretionary Funds for Students' Assistance (DFSA) is available for students who otherwise may not be able to attend school functions, such as roller skating parties. All queries are confidential and will be solely addressed by the Plank Road South principal.
